New blog entry : Much maligned, but full of charm. http://www.cousin-jacks.co.uk/blog.asp http://www.cousin-jacks.co.uk/61 Fri, 27 Feb 2009 11:34:05 GMT Whilst they may be an alien species and responsible for the decline of our wonderful native reds, grey's have a certain charm and appeal of their own. Its more correct to say that in fact the decline of the red squirrel is our fault; we introduced the grey after all in the first place. For some reason there has been a derth of some of the more spectacular wildlife in my local patch over the last couple of weeks. Spots which normally yield Kestrels, Peregrins and Buzzards have been strangely quiet and even many of the smaller shore birds seem absent. Thankfully, I've has some great encounters with some of the more common creatures - Robins seem to be everywhere as do the normally elusive Wrens. Sometimes the most familiar animals can be the most enchanting.
